Deep Tissue Massage
Deep tissue massage is a type of massage therapy that focuses on realigning deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue. It is especially helpful for chronically tense and contracted areas such as stiff necks, low back tightness, and sore shoulders.
Swedish Massage
Swedish massage is the most common and best-known type of massage in the West, and the foundation for sports massage, deep tissue massage, aromatherapy massage, and other popular Western-style massages.
Back Walking Massage
Client lies on the table while the practitioner walks across his or her back, using the feet to target specific pressure points. This form is also sometimes called barefoot Shiatsu, referencing the fact that the therapist is shoe-less, and that the principles of Shiatsu, a massage technique which focuses on pressure points, are utilized in the massage.
Couples Massage
Couples massage can be used as a way for you and a romantic partner, loved one or friend, to spend quality time together and become closer in your relationship. This is especially true if your partner is attending his first massage therapy session and will feel more at ease with you there.
Hot Stone Massage
Hot stone massage is a type of massage therapy that involves the use of smooth, heated stones. The massage therapist places the hot stones on specific points on your body and may also hold the stones while giving the massage. The localized heat and weight of the stones warm and relax muscles, allowing the massage therapist to apply deeper pressure to those areas without causing discomfort.
Chair Massage
Chair massages have you sitting face forward in a chair so the therapist can massage mostly your neck, shoulders, and back. The good thing is you don't have to take off your clothes or have oils slathered all over you. Depending on the massage therapist, however, a chair massage can really get the tension out of your upper body.
